IP3 and Tecnologico de Monterrey Launch PPP Collaboration in Mexico and Latin America

IP3MonterreySignThe Institute for Public Private Partnerships (IP3,  a division of global company Tetra Tech. 16,000 employees, 400 offices, Nasdaq: TTEK) and the Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) have signed a memorandum of collaboration to foster joint programs in Mexico and Latin America, in the areas of public-private partnerships.  The organizations were represented in the signature ceremony by Dr. Laura Ruiz, ITESM´s Director for Social Programs, and Tomas Kiguel, IP3/Tetra Tech Inc.´s  Lead Manager for Latin America.

As highlighted in the latest Infrascope, ensuring the availability of financing for PPPs is critical to satisfying the infrastructure investment requirements in Latin America and the Caribbean. To meet their growing needs, Mexico has committed US $300bn over the next three years. Mexico´s federal government passed the Law of Public-Private Partnerships (Ley de Asociaciones Público Privadas) in January 2012, providing a broader, enabling framework for PPPs at all levels of government.

The Tecnológico de Monterrey (Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey) is one of the most recognized universities in Mexico and Latin America.  The Tecnológico de Monterrey leads MuniAPP,  Mexico´s prime platform to support municipalities in strengthening public-private partnerships, in conjunction with the Interamerican Development Bank.  Founded in 1943, ITESM has since grown to include 31 campuses in 25 cities throughout, becoming one of the most academically recognized universities in Latin America, ranked amongst the 100 best universities in the world and amongst the 7 best universities in the region.
