The goal of this course is to provide learners who design or implement public-private partnership (PPP) programs with practical, hands-on, and results-oriented capacity building experiential learning that will further their PPP planning and implementation objectives in two parts.

Part A provides a comprehensive overview of the rationale for and forms of PPPs and various contractual structures.

Part B discusses the procurement process and the importance of stakeholder engagement and communication.

Finally, students will learn the fundamentals of PPP contract management, performance monitoring, and the impacts of economic regulation.

  • Evaluate tendering work plans and schedules
  • Describe specific options for regulation and adjustment of PPP contract structures
  • Summarize practical challenges, issues and constraints to managing and completing effective feasibility studies
  • Distinguish between lender requirements for project financing and what contracting authorities should do to facilitate and support PPP financial closure
